About JOSPT


     The mission of the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy is to publish scientifically rigorous, clinically relevant content for physical therapists and others in the healthcare community to advance musculoskeletal and sports-related practice. Now in its 33rd year, the Journal strives to be the preeminent  source of scientific evidence in musculoskeletal and sports-related rehabilitation and health for the global community.

     The monthly JOSPT is the official journal of its publishers, the Orthopaedic Section and the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Through the print and electronic Journal, the publishers seek to offer high-quality research, immediately applicable clinical material, and useful supplemental information in a variety of formats.  

     The Journal's current impact factor is 2.538.

    JOSPT is also an officially recognized journal of several professional associations outside the United States.

     Professional orthopaedic and sports physical therapy associations headquartered in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom offer special JOSPT subscription rates to their members.  They are the Danish Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Association, the Norwegian Manual Therapy Group of the Norwegian Physiotherapist Association, Ortopedisk Manuell Terapi (OMT) Sweden, and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) in the United Kingdom. In addition, JOSPT has a special relationship with 2 international federations: the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapists (IFOMT) and the International Federation of Sports Physiotherapy (IFSP).    

    

     The Journal is indexed by several well-known services in print and/or electronic format, in particular, Index Medicus (PubMed/Medline), Excerpta Medica (Embase), and Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL).
