2004 in Review

The final editorial of the year represents an opportunity for me to highlight some of the significant accomplishments of the past 12 months and to recognize the many individuals who have contributed to the Journal's continued success. In terms of the presence of the Journal in our community, 2004 was remarkable in that the June issue commemorated the 25th anniversary of the JOSPT.1 Among the myriad activities of the Journal that took place in this anniversary year, I would like to highlight 3 items that are of special significance to subscribers, authors, and reviewers: the creation of 2 annual publication awards, the progress being made in archiving of past issues of the Journal on our website, and the transition to an online manuscript submission and review system beginning in January 2005.
